A Vision for Lichfield

As 2007 draws to a close I have no doubt that the New Year will bring with it all sorts of fresh challenges for the residents of Lichfield City and the surrounding villages. During the 25 years I have lived in Fradley, I seen many changes take place. Mostly, these have been for the better but others have undoubtedly been a bit of a disaster for some residents. However, change is a part of life and it is incumbant on your councillors to try and make the best decisions we can on your behalf.

Over the next few weeks I will be working on some ideas to put before Council in order to develop 'A Vision for Lichfield'. That is why I am now inviting you to send me your views on how you would like to see Lichfield, Burntwood and all the other villages that make our district such a good place to live, develop over the next decade.

I would like to see ideas that improve our surroundings and the quality of life not just for a select few but for all of our residents. Consequently, it doesn't have to be a major project that would cost millions of pounds to achieve. Rather the opposite in fact. A smaller scale project or idea can have a much greater impact on the local community because it is seen to be of benefit to them.

So, if you would like to take part in this exercise, then please write to me or send me an email outlining your ideas or identifying problems which we as a council may not be aware of. Of course I can't promise to act upon or deliver all of your ideas but your input is important if we want to take Lichfield forward in the years to come.
