Seems that I need to get my head around the law and blogging at election time. For the record, i am not personally up for election but am local chairman of a Party which has candidates standing...
Rather than get into trouble, who needs that, I will start entries again after May 3rd. Better safe than sorry.

Leaflets
Due to the preparation, printing and delivering of the above, I am sorry I have neglected my blog of late. I will post news of our local Election campaigns shortly, but in the meantime, voters in England may want to take part in this on line vote. If so, please visit http://tinyurl.com/yr7z8f and take part in a short survey.
Results will be published after the results of the Scottish Parliament elections in May. Check the Witanagemot Club (http://toque.co.uk/witan) in May for the results.
There are various petitions lodged at the No10 Downing Street site that may require your signature. Take a moment to check them out.

Tories undecided?
It was suggested that even the Tory leader can't make up his mind either. I had to smile whilst watching Channel 4's Despatches having only recently written that Calder Valley Tory hopeful can't make his mind up about which ‘seat' he is really after.
Political Columnist Peter Hitchen's program was a joy to listen to. I made some notes of memorable phrases which I am sorry if I didn't get down per sea. The program commented that Dave Cameron was seeking Office for it's own sake and without principle. The selection contest, which saw Dave convincingly beat his rival David Davies was a wonderful spectacle of ‘Gas & Sparkle'. The champagne talk won the day; DD got Tory Blaired and Mr Davies' talents and convictions were overlooked in the Tories lust for power. (DD, we would certainly appreciate your talents in our Party).
I wondered if any of those in the Calder Valley selection meeting saw the program and managed a smile, albeit a small one?

Last Brown Budget
The media are still covering aspects and details of the chancellor's 11th and possibly final budget.
No one seems too impressed with the headline-grabbing 2p cut in the basic rate of income tax. WHY?
The budget is bad for farmers, bad for small & manufacturing businesses, bad for pensioners and bad for the poorest citizens. Landfill tax hike will surely increase council tax. Not surprising England is disappointed then!
Some out there may feel there is some good in the budget, please add a comment and point it out.
