The plan to demolish the Royal Oak and a Cottage in Main St. to provide access for a new housing development as residents will I am sure already know has been refused by Lichfield District Council.

As I have said on many occasions the present boundaries of the village are confirmed and this will prevent any expansion into our green belt. What it does not prevent is people selling their gardens for development within the Village. Each application that falls into this category needs to be considered on its merits within planning law, in this case the development was seen as inappropriate and in my view the demolition of two of the oldest buildings in the Village is unacceptable.
