Post Office Closure Threat

We have all been captivated by the TV series Candleford which has highlighted the historic role of the Post Office. In questioning the relevence of the service today we must recognise that communications in our villages are in many ways no better than they were at the time of Candleford.

If you have a car the trip to a Post Office is easy but for many residents of villages the loss of this service becomes a major problem particularly for less mobile citizens.

Somtimes the cost of providing basic services can outweigh their percieved benifit, but this should not override all other considerations, if the Post Office were to look at how they can provide services more cost effectivly instead of just removing them I believe they could improve rather than remove the service we have come to expect. THE POST OFFICE.

I will work to maintain this essential service.
