Last week i attended the full council meeting of Kent  County Council

this meeting can be viewed on the webcast on the county council website.

I spoke about the need for more effective advertising of youth functions..

It seems a shame that while the council does provide Youth events, there is inadeqaute publicity about them

It seems to everyone in this media hype that asbos are things given to young people

1. Asbos are mainly given to adults

2.the 40% of asbos breached are including adults

3. all figures given out are of adults and young people are defined differently

4. colectively about 60 serious offences are commited by young people in kent a county of 300,00 people under 18

As my young consituents buy the mercurey this mourning im sure fr those travelling on the route 13 bus there will be no surprises as they have complained to the paper as stagecoach no longer operate double decker buses on this route some will be left behind they will probally only just be starting secondry I think that this is unaccseptable why can't we bring back the doubledeckers and replace these diamand buses on this very busy route surely if they can run in the summer holidays they can run in the first term of school.

In my area, Dover, we have found out that Swale youth forum have decided to try and adopt our youth developement framework . Unfortunately they have had no sucess as the council seems adament not to abide to the rules. I think this is very unfortunate because it means they cannot benifit from this . The council seems to be not listening to the youth in my opinion they should probably rethink this issue to get this sorted out .

These arent particularly busy months so let me cut to the chase july was a very exciting mounth for kent youth county council. We were featured in both the education tent and the corporate tent at the kent county show. New prospects have arisen such as a new dvd to help new people with thier elections it september . This August wont be busy at all as we are no at our summer recess.
