Work continues on Baths Hall

Work is progressing on the new Baths Hall with asbestos removal and demolition work due today. I met with the Town ward councillors, Mashook Ali and Darrell Barkworth, plus the MP Elliot Morley, last week when we inspected the work to see how it was progressing.
The latest works will clear the site of all buildings except the original 1930s front that faces onto Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe. This part of the building is to be retained and incorporated into the new entertainment venue. All suitable parts of the removed buildings will be crushed and re-used on the site to fill the two former swimming pool areas. Immediately following this stage, work will commence on-site to remove contamination as a result of the sites former use as a gas works.
It is exciting to witness the Baths Hall developing and changing into the unique entertainment venue the council is committed to providing for the area. The new venue will cater for all audiences and will be a venue that residents of North Lincolnshire can be proud of.

Take part in Humber Bridge research!
As part of a critical research study, local people and businesses are being encouraged to email through their stories of how the Humber Bridge and its tolls impact on their lives. North Lincolnshire Council has part funded a study into the impact tolls have on the region and Colin Buchanan are now inviting people to email them with their comments.
How does the bridge and the present level of tolls affect where you live, work, shop, go to college, and go out for an evening? Has the toll prevented you from taking up a job, college place or health appointment on the other side of the water? Anyone who has a personal account is encouraged to email in their views and make them count.
I would urge as many people as possible to email humberbridge@cbuchanan.co.uk and say how the bridge tolls impact their lives. It is important we get as many people as possible to get their message across.
People and businesses have until the end of July to respond and all responses will be treated as confidential.

Gardens in great condition
As I have been out and about in the region I have been delighted with the way some of our gardens and parks look.

There have been letters in the Telegraph saying the same thing and when the sun shines they all look fantastic. They are something we should all be proud of.

I would like to thank everyone involved for making our parks and gardens such wonderful places to visit.
