Plans for the new entertainment venue were submitted on Friday and I am delighted with the progress we are making. As long as everything goes to plan the new venue will be open by the end of 2010.  Once we get planning approval it will be full steam ahead. It is very exciting.

We have held a number of drop-in events so people can have a look at the plans and the majority of comments have been very supportive. I am very pleased with the feedback and want to thank people for taking part. The new venue will be a much better facility, it will be modern while retaining the original 1930s frontage. It will be capable of hosting large events but will also be a venue for local groups. We value the importance of the community and we will encourage this.
