Well done Brigg farmers market
It is excellent news that Brigg Farmers' Market is one of just four finalists shortlisted for the title of National Farmers' Market of the Year by the National Farmers' Retail and Markets' Association (FARMA). The council submitted an in depth entry form and judges visited Brigg Farmers' Market this summer to assess the market. The judges felt that the market had many of the ingredients essential for an award-winning market; excellent food, friendly and knowledgeable producers, lively atmosphere, an awareness of environmental issues and a commitment to the local community.
The market has gone from strength to strength since we first opened in June 2000. It brings the best in fresh food and local produce to visitors. Not only can people taste products before they buy them direct from the people who produce it, but they can also pick up some really handy cooking tips too. The Lincolnshire area has some of our country's best farmland, which generates fantastic fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy produce and the quality of Brigg Farmers' Market perfectly complements the selection of speciality shops in the quaint market town too.
