Wembley Stadium
| So there I was, sitting in the England changing room at the new Wembley Stadium, just waiting for John Terry to join me. Strangely enough he did not appear, but it was rather exciting looking around the lavish showers, baths and treatment rooms. The Mayor of Brent had been trying to organise a mayoral visit to Wembley all year, and managed to fit it in just before the end. We began by posing for a photo-shoot beside our cars in imitation of a famous photo taken at the opening of the previous Stadium. Just as we stepped out into the stunning bowl of the stadium itself my camera flashed 'Battery Empty'. After thinking a rather rude word, I asked the Deputy Mayor, Sheila Griffiths, for copies of the photos she was taking, so the ones you see here are all thanks to her. |
