I am pleased for local youths that the brickfields play area is to get the revamp that I have been calling for a long time now. The fact that the government has agreed to fund the local council for the sum of 2.5m in investment over the next two years to establish its “Play Pathfinder”, agenda is good news for our local youths.

The Pathfinder project is known as Play Out, Hang Out. Its main aims are: to give all children and young people more opportunities to enjoy adventurous outdoor play, and to involve children and young people in outdoor play space design and development, with opportunities for these spaces to be used by disabled children.

I am delighted for the young people of the area that they will have improved and enhanced play facilities of which I hope that they will make good use of.
