Heart of Brazil Exihibition Brazilian Embassy 9th October 2007
Sue and Paddy Cunningham have just returned from their expedition to the interior of Brazil. They went to help Indians who live in a conservation area by taking them global navigation equipment. With this equipment the Indians can prove when loggers enter their conservation area and carry out illegal logging activities. Sue & Paddy live in the Norbiton Ward.

A day with the Police 21st September 2007One of the problems we have in Norbiton Ward is loud sirens from emergency vehicles. One night between the hours of 1 & 2am one resident heard 17 different sirens, mostly police, going past her flat.
The problem is a very difficult intersection at Hawks Road and Cambridge Road. Also that so many police are on duty in central Kingston due to the active night life and so when they are on call towards New Malden, the only road they can use from the town centre is Hawks Road/Cambridge Road. I have had a number of conversations with the emergency services to try to lessen the noise.
I haven't found the answer but I did get asked to act as a 'dignitary' for a number of police officers being tested to act as drivers and escorts for royalty and dignitaries. David, my husband, was able to come as well.
We were driven to Hendon from our home in an unmarked car with the driver giving a commentary all the way. There we met up with the Queen's deputy chauffeur and were driven to Buckingham Palace in a convoy with outriders.
Driven by the Queen's deputy chauffeur to Buckingham Palace
Arriving at the Palace.
At the Palace we were shown around the area where the carriages and horses are kept. We were also shown the Queen's cars.
With outriders.
We were then driven home - what a day! We hope all those being tested, passed!
Launch of Young Kingston at Chessington World of Adventures 27 Sept
A great day for the Launch. A good time was had by all and the message about Young Kingston taken back to the schools. Young people are able to put forward projects they would like to develop and can apply for funding from the Charity.

Some questions!

Some pictures before the fun! - Rides on the bumper cars.
A good time was had by all and a good launch for the Charity.
Kingston Community & Police Partnership - Celebrate 25 yearsThe Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone and the Mayor of Kingston, Cllr Mirza meet members of the Kingston Safer Transport Team.
KCPP was originally set up 23rd September 1982, and at first chaired by Douglas Reynolds (Then known as Kingston Police and Community Forum), now chaired by Mrs Sandra Flower. KCPP has gone from strength to strength and gives the community links with their police. Questions are asked of the police and they in return have to prove their worth.
On 23rd September 2007 we were able to celebrate 25 years.
