With Fiona Nugent, partnership manager DC Leisure and Sally Johnson, Public Health Programme Leader Kingston PCT at the Launch of Chessington Kids can Cook Book. The recipe book is in many ways, a celebration of all the work that has been going on across Chessington schools during the past two years around the subject of healthy eating. The funding for this project came from a governament initiative aimed at improving healthy eating for Kingston. Kingston Council and Kingston Primary Care Trust teamed up to ensure that the money would be used as effectively as possible in each cluster of schools in the Royal Borough.

I invited Maisie Verra to the mayor's parlour for a Cup of Tea and I even sent Harry Kempson to surprised Maisie when he turned up in the RBK 1 to bring Maisie to the Parlour. Maisie was also joined by Mr Leon (Son) Mrs Dorothy Verra (daughter in Law) Mrs Edwington (daughter) and her grand daughter Lorraine and her husband Alasdair Macdonald.

With the Principal and students of Hillcroft College Surbiton,the College was founded in 1920 as the working Women's College and unique in being the only publicaly funded residential college for women, Hillcroft focuses on women who are at risk of exclusion from learning or social and economic activity. Hillcroft aims to enable all women who attend to learn and achieve, regardless of age or background. Hillcroft is a beautiful Victorian building and covers around 3 acres of ground.

Capel Manor Gardens and estate are spread 30 acres and is Greater London's only specialist College of Horticultural, Floristory, Garden Design, Arborculture, Animal Care and Countyside Studies. Kingston University Students Union runs a highly successful volunteering scheme which sees hundreds of students volunteer in the local community. Every volunteer received a certificate recognising their participation. A number of special awards were presented to individuals who have shown exceptional committment and achievement.
