St Margarets Parish Council
This evening I attended a meeting of the parish council.
It was a long meeting as the parish council was deciding on grant applications from village organisations such as the village sporting clubs.
The council also considered a number opf planning applications and decisions.
I was able to brief the council on a number of issues relating to county council activities including Kent Highways.
My colleague Ian Ward was able to do the same form a Dover District Council perspective.
I feel the council appreciates the input from their District and County representatives
Current mood: coldworking for the residents
This morning i went to the Eastry Coffe Break
I met a number of residents. There was much discussion about local planning matters and the demise of some public houses in the local area although I believe that this is a national problem.
After I went down to the district council offices to chase up on a number of matters including one raised at last nights parish council meeting.
Current mood:
Cool Great Mongeham Parish Council
This evening I went to a meeting of the parish council There was lively discussion about proposals to establish new bus zones and what effect this would have on local residents. There seems to be already adequate provision for bus stopping and trying to further inconvenience residents would be counter productive so the new zones were opposed. There was also much discussion about other transport issues such as rail and Kent Highways.
Current mood:
Sceptical Great Mongeham drop in
This morning I went to the drop in
I met a number of residents
One of the main topics was energy supply and how wind farms may not be the answer.
There was much discussion about how there is a need for a dependable supply of energy and how governments have not invsted enough to ensure energy supplies for the future.
There was also discussion about policing in the village.
Current mood:
Sceptical a busy evening
This evening I started by attending a governors meeting at Nortbourne CEP school. There was discussion on a number of matters regarding governance.
After I attended Sutton By Dover Parish Council.
I briefed the council on issues relating to both the district and county councils.
I enjoy giving support to the work of the parishes
