BOTTESFORD NEIGHBOURHOOD ACTION TEAM
The launch of the Bottesford Neighbourhood Action Team took place at the Wortley Hotel last night (Thursday 18th January) along side those of Ashby, Brumby, Frodingham and Kingsway with Lincoln Gardens which will jointly make up the new Scunthorpe South Neighbourhood Policing Area.
The Action Teams will for the first time be based on North Lincolnshire Council's Electoral Wards which in Bottesford's case will unite the Town which had previously been divided into two areas along Messingham Road known as Scunthorpe East and West.
Membership of the teams will comprise of Police, Councillors, Community Groups and other local organisations whose function will be about local issues affecting community safety, prioritising issues for action and working to resolve problems together.
So as I and my fellow ward Councillor for Bottesford, Dave Whiteley met with representatives of Community Groups from Bottesford, its fingers crossed for future success.
POT HOLE CLAIMS
It was an early start this morning, as I accepted an invitation to do an interview with Radio Humberside on the ever increasing number of pot holes on our highways - particularly in residential areas, a situation that I have raised in a number of arenas over the months.
So at seven o'clock we met on site in Sunningdale Road, which certainly has more than its fair share of the dratted holes, to discuss this continuing problem.
Sunningdale Road is of course by no means unique when it comes to pot holes, as over the last year residents in the neighbouring streets of Goodwood, Low Leys Road, Ottawa Road as well as High Leys Road and Bolingbroke Road right across to Chancel Road have had reason to raise this issue with me.
I wonder just how many agree with me in a little less botching and soething more long term ?
