BOTTESFORD STREET LIGHTING FIASCO

Street lighting repairs is by far the most topical issue of the moment based on the number of representations I've received from local constituents.

Many residents are feeling disgruntled, and quite rightly so, at having to wait not just days, nor weeks but months and are still waiting for street lights to be repaired.

Having taken up these cases by writing and phoning the electric companies responsible it appears that they are law unto themselves as time after time I have been promised and given assurances of completion dates that have never materialised.

I appreciate I am not alone as I attempt to secure a solution for the people I represent in Bottesford, as many of my colleagues are encountering the same difficulties in neighbouring wards.

Just what does it take to make these people accountable ?, as one thing's for sure the present situation is nothing more than a FIASCO.

One Hell of a frustrated Councillor, on behalf of even more frustrated residents.

Dear Mr Swift,
I apologise for using your blog in this way but would like to know if your county with the growing energy costs would be interested in reducing there carbon footprint and electricity bills for there street lights by considering solar powered street lighting? I would be grateful if you can let me know your views on this and any help you can be in pointing me in the right direction of who to speak to at the council regarding this.
Regards
