15,000 MORE HOMES TO BE BUILT IN BOTTESFORD - TOWN COUNCIL OBJECT

Bottesford Town Council voted to formerly object to the possibility of 15,000 more homes being built in and around Bottesford at its meeting on Monday night (2nd February 2009).

Proposals put forward by North Lincolnshire Council as part of its consultation exercise on future development throughout the authority identifies areas such as Messingham Road to Scotter Road and to the rear of Yaddlethorpe High Street and Moorwell Road for 2,289 properties, Holme Lane for 2,071 properties and Scotter Road for 11,000 properties.

Councillors cited the over development of Bottesford, the impact on Bottesford Beck, the dangers of piece meal development, limited facilities and the lack of 'joined up thinking' and forward planning regarding education (recent school closures) as just some of their concerns.
