The morning after the day before.

The headline in this morning's Guardian was "Election fraud: Labour failed to act, say MPs".  There were confessions that postal voting abuses should have been tackled before, and they are likely to bring in some sort of voter identification.  Well, well.  I just wish they had listened to me properly 7 years ago - but isn't that just the story of my life!

In between looking up on the internet the progress of everyone in the election I tackled the mound  of casework.  Some things seem to go on for ever, and I really don't like having to nag and  chase, but I am there to represent my constituents, and needs must.  I have a new agency to chase, all about problems with the Winter Heating Allowance, but I think I have finally got the right department to write to, or rather re-send all the correspondence to.  They don't make it easy.

I'm not going to stay up for the Mayor of London result, but it looks like Boris has it, even with second preferences.  Maybe as well he does win, then people will see just what the Tories are like before the General Election comes along.  Brian Paddick is a good, principled and sound man, dedicated to London, and it is a pity he has been squeezed out by media giants, and the issues are not being looked at, it has been a media led event.

As I switch off the computers I find that there have been postal voting issues that have caused problems and changed results.  We need action on tackling this from all Parties - and fast, before any more elections.
