About Tim Ball
It has been a while since I registered this blog site and many of you who regularly check out the blogs will wonder why I have not posted anything until now.
Well time stands still for no body and even a councillor runs out of time.
Tim at Bath City Farm
I am Tim Ball I have been a councillor in Twerton in Bath for 16 years now I am 49 years old and married to Sharon who is also a councillor in a neighbouring ward we are both Liberal Democrat Councillors and are proud to be able to serve our communities.
I have served on Bath City Council from 1991 until 1996 when it was abolished, I served on Avon County Council from 1993 until 1996 when the reorganisation of Local Government abolished both Bath City and Avon & formed Bath & North East Somerset Council on which I have served since it's creation until present day.
Tim & Gerry Elected for another four Years
We have recently had elections in Bath & North East Somerset Council where both my ward colleague Gerry Curran & I have been re-elected to serve our community for another four years.
In a two Party race for the seat we received 67% of the vote with the Conservatives on 33%. This has to be borne in context that Twerton is a former Labour stronghold and they did not stand any candidates at this election.
We want to thank all of those residents that supported us during the election Period.
Unfortunately for our residents although we did well in Bath and still hold 23 out of the 32 seats in the City, the Tories have taken minority control of the council through their larger representation in North East Somerset area.
NEW EPH OPEN
A new Elderly Persons home is now open in Twerton and its development was driven by the Liberal Democrats on the Council from its early conception. Although our Local conservatives have tried to claim the credit for this new home they opposed its development when it was moved by the Liberal Democrats in 2002.

Tim & Gerry at New EPH
As a local Councillor I am delighted that we have the new EPH in Twerton that has the most modern facilities in the country as this will be of great benefit to all residents in our area. The new home is called Cleeve Court and is built on the former Carrswood site at Cleeve green right in the middle of Twerton.
New Adult Learning Centre
At the same time that the New EPH was built the council has also built a new Adult learning centre that has all the latest facilities that will be of benefit of adults with learning difficulties.
The facility has a new auditory and sensory facility and is also used for meetings and as a day Centre. The building can also be used by the Local Community for hire in the evenings and at weekends.
20MPH Zones
Gerry Curran and Tim Ball are delighted that Twerton has tow 20MPH zones the first in stalled at Day crescent and Redland Park a number of years ago.
The latest 20MPH zone is outside of St Michaels Junior School on Newton Road and we are hopeful that it will lead to a safer are for our young Children who have to cross a busy road.

Tim at Newton Road
We have just Started a campaign to have a new 20MPH zone outside of Twerton Infants School on Poolemead Road as this is where our youngest Children go to School.
If you would like to help us on this campaign then please ring me on 01225 400834, or email tball@blueyonder.co.uk.
