Play out, hang out

It is good to see that Twerton has done well in gaining government funding for new play facilities to be developed  the first phase of an exciting new project to create new and renovated play spaces for children and young people have been announced.

Bath & North East Somerset council is one of just 20 local authorities to have been chosen by central Government as a “Play Pathfinder”, which has resulted in £2.5m in investment over the next two years.

The Pathfinder project is known as Play Out, Hang Out. Its main aims are: to give all children and young people more opportunities to enjoy adventurous outdoor play, and to involve children and young people in outdoor play space design and development, with opportunities for these spaces to be used by disabled children.

The Parks at Pennyquick and  Woodhouse Road  are the two parks in  that will benefit from funding in the Twerton area.

I am delighted for the young people of the area that they will have improved and enhanced play facilities of which I hope that they will make good use of.
