World Heritage and planning laws

It has come to my attention that the issue of the whole of the City of Bath being a world Heritage site has led to changes in planning legislation that will affect all planning applications in the City.

Where as before we had Conservation areas that covered some of our more historic areas of the City it is my belief from what I have been told this afternoon that the conservation area will now cover the whole city, This means that all planning applications will have to have to be considered on conservation grounds as well as normal planning conditions.

Is this a good step we will have to wait and see what comes through.
