Pact meeting Twerton 3rd June
After the first Twerton PACT meeting some four months ago the report back meeting will take place on the 3rd June at St Michaels School, Twerton, Bath. At 6pm.
At the first meeting residents raised the following priorities.
1) Security of communal areas for blocks of flats (SOMER)
2) Burglary/Arson (SOMER, Police, Fire)
3) Youth Provision (B&NES, Play rangers)
The normal practice is for the top priority to take precedence and that is normally the one that the PACT committee will try to deliver, but I am aware that there has been positive progress on all 3 issues and the details of these will be given on 3rd June.
Please come along to the meeting it is not often that good news can be shared, and at the same meeting you will be able to let us know of any further issues that you wish to bring to our attention.

Mess at Former EPH Twerton High Street
We are chasing up Astor homes who now own the Former Elderly Persons home on Twerton High Street about the amount of rubbish and litter on the site and also on the terrible condition of the building.
It is a shame that this building has been allowed to get into this condition in such a short period of time.

Cows back at Bath City Farm
This is some good news the Cows are back grazing in the fields at Bath City Farm, they were missed last year when the Foot & Mouth Outbreak prevented the movement of many animals.
Bath City Farm is also thriving so if you have not been for a while why mot give them a visit this Bank Holiday week end at Kelston View in Twerton and see some of the wildlife and wonder at the spectacular views from this part of the city of Bath.

New Bins at Newton Road
We have made complaints that the new bins that we were promised for Newton Road have still not arrived.
A few months ago both Cllr Gerry Curran & Cllr Tim Ball met the council cleansing team manager for the area and we complained about the litter bin that was in location being damaged so we were promised that the bin would be re seated and that another bin would also be provided to help with the areas litter problem.
It is now nearly 3 months and the other bin has also been removed. We will be pressing for an early replacement of both bins.

Land above Cotswold View
The owner of the land above Cotswold View has cleared the land of all vegetation. In fact he has cot all the small trees etc to the ground.
Comments were made to residents earlier this year by the land owner that he would have 40 motor bikes up here every weekend if he does not get housing on the site is now a cause fro concern.
The access to the land would be over a public footpath which is part of the Highway we will watch what happens over the next few weeks and see what he intends to do.
If he has the motorbikes at the weekend then we will take all possible steps to prevent this, The land is very close to the city farm and wildlife could be put into danger the land also being in close proximity to housing can also have affects on what this land can be used for.
