Twerton Bath

It was god to attend one of our Local pubs with Bath MP Don Foster we visited The White Horse  to join in The Publican’s ‘Proud of Pubs’ week.  The pub has recently raised over £2.000 for charity through various events, including holding a bungee jump in the back garden.

As local councillors we are really pleased with the activities at the White Horse and thank Jackie and Steve and their staff for the warm welcome that we are always given. 

Don said, “The White Horse is an excellent example of what a community pub can be.  They are responsible members of the community and have raised so much money for good causes. 

 “It’s a shame that the Government continues to disadvantage community pubs, such as by putting 4p a pint extra on a pint of beer, when really they should be doing all they can to help them flourish.  As The Publican states, over half of pubs have seen sales fall in the last year. 

“It was great to meet Steve, Jackie and the staff at the pub, and I hope that the local community supports their work.  I also know there are many other great local pubs in Bath and we should be doing all we can to support them.”
