Detail and agenda to follow nearer the time

please put the date in your diary

Redland Park
Complaints have been made to the Council and Somer Housing about the condition of the footpath by the side of 12 Redland Park and we have asked that the weeds that are growing out of the the School grounds are removed. Work on the Children's lay are is under way and we have asked that full repairs to the fence are made to keep dogs out of this area.

Highland & Landsser Road

We continue to have a problem with litter on these roads and much of this is caused by one or two people who insist on putting their black bags out early before collection day and we have there for asked that council officer try to find out who the offenders are. We have also asked in the mean time that the area is kept as clean as possible.

Pennyquick View & Day Crescent

The Majority of Houses are now empty in Pennyquick View ready for redevelopment and several have been vacated in Day Crescent although we must say that we are still waiting for a formal planning application from Somer Housing for the redevelopment of this area although as to date we have heard that they are making alterations to their proposals we will let you know what they are up to as soon as we find out.

Newton Road

After a period of waiting we have had two new litter bins installed near to the Cost Cutter Shop on Newton Road we have also recently had several black sacks of litter removed.

High Street

New drain covers have been installed by the shops close to the Spar shop, these are the second ones to be put in this year. The Former Marjorie Whimster home will soon be demolished and new housing for the site has been proposed. The issue of the footpath 25-19 is one that we have asked to be resurfaced and we have also asked for drooped kerbs to be installed at this location.

Freeview Road
W
e are dealing with several complaints of Anti Social behaviour from Several Families, these have been reported to the Police and Somer Housing who we have asked to deal with these issues. We have also picked up complaints about cars being vandalised and these have also been reported to the Police.

Dominion Road
We have had the footpath between this road and Freeview Road Cleared of the overhanging trees and have all the rubbish and glass removed, this path has proved difficult in the past and we have asked the council to keep this lane monitored.

Whiteway Community Respect Project
Each Sunday the WCRP is holding a car boot sale in Rosewarn field. All welcome

Credit Union
In these more difficult times, finance is becoming more of a problem with some residents taking up loan offers from companies lending money at 180% interest rates. Credit Unions offer much safer and more affordable ways of borrowing money and instil a sense of responsibility about saving as well as borrowing. However the Credit Union currently has a small pot of money available to lend to new members who do not currently have a savings record with them.
For more information email banes.creditunion@hotmail.co.uk or call 01179865888.
Please note the Credit Union is not part of the Council.

Bath Highway Engineer
Bath has had no highway engineer since February. NE Somerset has, during this time, retained its two highway engineers. This was an unacceptable situation and at the beginning of June we told the Conservative cabinet member firmly that this had to be resolved swiftly. We are pleased to report that an engineer has been appointed. We will be seeking an early meeting to discuss and take forward the Highways issues we suffer from. One of the early issues that we want to discuss with him is the amount of accidents that we have been having on Pennyquick Hill.
